Alicia Keys' new album is called "The Element Of Freedom..." and there is something very free and liberating about this album. Its definitely an album I love, the brilliant track "Empire State Of Mind Part II (Broken Down)" part II of the 1st smash single Empire State Of Mind from Jay Z's Blueprint 3 album. That song is a fresh slowed down but still very powerful version of the song that makes you feel like the city of New York has this special ability to make you feel empowered, this is the power of music and I think Alicia Keys is an artist that can make you lose yourself in the moment of the song.
Also the 1st single off the album "Doesn't Mean Anything" is another Alicia Keys piece of magic, its melody and lyrics are classic Alicia Keys and she doesn't disappoint at all. She has a song on the album with Beyonce called "Put it in a love song" where she steps away from the slow softer ballads and goes hard with B... definitely one of my favourite tracks on the album.
Add "Try Sleeping with a broken heart", "Unthinkable (I'm Ready)", "Wait To You See Me Smile" and you've got a very very very good album. I'd give tis album 4/5, 8/10 18/20, 80/100 whatever is clever this album is a must have in your collection
