"I'm Doing Me."

If you've been living under a rock or are not just familiar with the work by the man that goes by Drizzy Drake on his first single from his new album "Over" he drops the line "What am I doing, what am I doing. Oh yeah that's right I'm doing me." As I was listening to this track for like the 100th time it hit me, the importance of that line so simple but at the same means so much.

Can any of us say that all our lives we've just been ourselves? I definitely admit in the past there has been times where I haven't been my self because what ever reason but as a youngster you get caught up in the hype of trying to be things you're not. Where as now  I'm completely comfortable with the person I am and nothing or nobody could tell me any different. I say this and I know there are people out there that still put on this front this act if you like for some form of recognition from the people they want to be like or crave the attention off. What I don't understand is when did these people go from believing in themselves and who they are that they need to be fake to impress other people. If people can't take the time to like you for you who are then why waste your time and energy trying to gain their approval.

What makes any one person more special than the other? Nothing in my book from, doctors to actors to musicians to sports players to politicians to authors to models to students to builders. Nothing makes any one person better than another, not money, not fame, not status, not anything. We are all human's and should be treated with the same respect and dignity but because of the culture we live in today that doesn't happen. Fame goes to people's head and they forget about where they came from and who they were before. People get caught up in the hype of every one knowing who they are and their name, end of the day does that really matter.

What matters is the people that are going be their for you when you're down, you need help, when you need a shoulder to lean on, when you lose some one, when you just need some one to be there. You find out who your real friends are when you need help, all those people that were jumping on your back before are not around no more you are left with true friends that were their before and never leave.

But I say all this the majority of people don't care and won't care till it happens to you then you're stood there like "Fuck". Exactly because you thought you were king or queen of the world now you are just a faker or a buster masquerading as a faker. What ever it is you aren't being real but hey that's your right on this earth to be what and who you want to be...

I just know that that's not who I want to be.

Peace

A x
